Know What You Want
Are you just looking for cheap insurance? What are the consequences of choosing the cheapest option? Is customer service important to you? It’s important to know your priorities before you start looking for car insurance. The ideal fit will offer great coverage at an affordable price, with customer service operators that truly care about service.
Check Out Their Reputation
After you’ve found a few possibilities that fit your needs, do a little investigating and check out the company’s reputation and financial standing. Make sure the company is licensed to sell insurance in your specific state. Look at complaint ratings and be on the lookout for scam-prone companies. Check out the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and look at the rankings. The BBB ranks businesses from A+ to F, and gives you information about customer complaint cases and resolutions.
Never Check Out Just One or Two
Always compare at least three quotes. Talk to your family members and friends about their insurance providers. Ask how long they have been with the company, if they are satisfied with their rates, and about quality of customer service. Were they efficient? How did they handle the situation?
Look for companies that offer discounts and “good driver” reward programs. Some offer rewards for driver with consistently goo driving records. If you plan on adding multiple drivers under your policy, ask about bundling insurance policies. Some companies provide discounts for purchasing two or more lines of coverage. Check out their social media accounts, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, to evaluate how they respond to issues and inquiries. Comparing car insurance quotes is never about what is the cheapest.
Hopefully these tips can help you figure out what’s best for you and clarify your options.
