Lake City, FL – According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, a Wellborn man died in a Lake City car accident just after midnight on the New Year. The other vehicle’s occupant is in critical condition.

Jessica Miller, 30, from Jasper, FL, was headed south on Northwest Lake Jeffery Road around 12:09 A.M. last Sunday in her 2007 Dodge Ram pickup truck. Meanwhile, Michael O’Malley, 68, was heading north on the same Road in a 2006 Ford Ranger.

Miller’s Ram reportedly swerved into the northbound lane, causing a head-on collision with O’Malley’s Ranger. Sadly, O’Malley was declared deceased on the scene.

Miller was taken to Health Shands at the University of Florida in Gainsville, unfortunately with incapacitating injuries.

Whether alcohol was involved was not disclosed.
