A person is entitled to permanent total disability benefits if that person has sustained any injuries due to which his wage earning capability is permanently or totally lost. People with certain amputations or acquired permanent blindness are the most common ones who enlist themselves under the beneficiaries for permanent total disability.
There is no limit on the weeks PTD is payable. The employee can continue to engage him/herself in a business or employment if his/her wages and PTD benefits do not exceed the limit set by the law.
