MDs & EMC
Keeping track of your medical records is one of the most important things to do after an accident. A personal injury claim is heavily jeopardized when medical records are not kept or are not detailed enough. We provide you with those doctors qualified to accurately determine the extent of your injuries and provide excellent documentation of your injuries and treatment process.
In the State of Florida, Section 627.736, Florida Statutes (2014) require vehicle owners to carry personal injury protection (PIP) insurance. PIP insurance will cover 80% of your medical bills if you are injured in an accident, but the limit of the amount the insurance company will cover depends on whether you have an emergency medical condition (EMC).
Section 395.002(8), Florida Statutes (2014), defines an EMC as a medical condition manifesting itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity, which may include severe pain, such that the absence of immediate medical attention would reasonably be expected to result in any of the following:
- Serious jeopardy to patient health
- Serious impairment of bodily function
- Serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part
